This lecture will review the key questions of anatomy and physiology of the pancreas and complex regulation of exocrine pancreatic secretion. The lecturer will present in detail current opinions about the etiology, pathogenesis and classification of both acute and chronic pancreatitis. Clinical manifestations and diagnostic evaluation of acute and chronic pancreatitis will be discussed.

The course is offered for medical students, medical practitioners and gastroenterologists, as well as doctors of other specialties who want to improve their knowledge in the field of pancreatology.
