About
The course introduces the basics of research methodology, types of research design, research life cycle and principles of data description.
The training will provide the knowledge of the main statistical methods used in research and examples of interpretation of statistical tests results.
The purpose of the course is to gain knowledge about the basics of research methodology, research design, research plan and program, as well as to give an introduction to data description, analysis, and interpretation.The course is offered for students, residents and master students of medical universities.
Contents
The module provides insight into the concept of «research» and «knowledge», introduces the key aspects of research methodology, describes the methods of knowing. The module provides the classifications and characteristics of different types of research.
The purpose of studying the module is to gain basic knowledge about methods of knowing and classifications of research as well as brief introduction into research methodology
This module introduces the basics of research life cycle, describes the stages of research, the key components of research plan and program.
During the training the main types of research design will be discussed.
The purpose of studying the module is to learn how to develop the stages of research and to choose a correct research design. Special attention is given to preliminary stage (topic, research problem, research question, hypothesis, aim and objectives).
This module provides the basics of data description, analysis, and interpretation, presents the main types of values and ways of statistical hypothesis testing. The module introduces students to the interpretation of statistical tests results used for comparison of groups, evaluation of association between values and risk evaluation.
The purpose of studying the module is to learn how to use different types of values for description of research results and how to
interpret the results of the key statistical tests.
